When I tell you that I am a Jane Austen fan and that Pride & Prejudice is not only one of my favorite books but is also one of my favorite comfort movies that I watch at least once every year, believe me, I'm a little obsessed. So when my friend and extremely talented photographer Danielle, of Danielle Towle Photography reached out about doing a styled shoot with this theme, I was elated.
Sometimes when you are onsite for a styled shoot, you get this feeling, this sense that together with the other vendors that you've created something really beautiful. The team for this shoot was absolutely incredible! Not only did everyone bring their talents and best to this photoshoot but we all just had a really great time spent together during the shoot.
When it comes to the look of the groom, and especially the bride, I cannot say enough how the styling, the chosen outfits and the hair and makeup done by Sincerely Me, were absolutely perfect.
I had never been to the Heigh Torr Estate before, where the shoot was hosted. I was blown away by the beautiful natural landscape in the countryside of Loudoun. The property made the perfect backdrop to recreate the beloved sunrise scene from the 2005 movie.
But the interior also captured my heart. They managed to make the sprawling estate feel homey and welcoming while filled with timeless antiques and exquisite details like this chandelier.
The Crawford Room, with its beautiful fireplace and large picture window was the perfect room for the shoot. The incredible florals by Petal N' Bloom blew me away, and the antiques brought by Fox and Fern Vintage Rentals really set the scene. The place settings and other table top decor provided by Curated Events D.C. completed the look. Tanya, with Maudie Cakes made a beautiful wildflower-inspired cake that actually used the same flowers that I used on the bookmark place settings and escort wall.
When planning the details for this shoot with Danielle, and she spoke about how she'd love to incorporate dried or pressed flowers I knew I wanted to create place settings that were beautiful but also a keepsake. I enjoyed creating these acrylic bookmarks with guest names that I wrote in white calligraphy.
To match the place settings, I created the escort wall with the same dried flowers that were pressed into antique-style black floating frames. The guest names were hand-written in white paint on the glass frames that were tied with white chiffon bows to one our Framed Escort Walls, which I painted with a Sherwin Williams blue paint called Secret Cove. Petal N' Bloom's beautiful arrangement completed the look.
To tie into the vintage theme, I used my gold antique-style mirrors for the Wedding Welcome Sign and table display. On the small table mirror I wrote the famous quote from the movie "You have bewitched me body and soul, and I love, I love, I love you."
This 3-piece wedding invitation suite I designed included the invitation, detail card, and RSVP card. Matching envelopes were addressed with gold calligraphy and lined with the floral pattern I used on all the printed pieces. The vellum wrapper, which is used to enclose all the items of the suite together before placing them in the envelope, was sealed with the same blue chiffon ribbon and a white wax seal. The matching vow booklets used the same blue ribbon.
And just when I thought this photoshoot coouldn't get any better, we decided to move everything outside to show you the West Lawn with the beautiful mountain backdrop during golden hour. The incredible lighting made this almost feel like a different shoot and really brought out the romance.
Towards the end of the day, models Sarah and Amedeo spotted the pool and thought it would be fun to jump in. Despite how cold the water was they were excited to give it a go and from that Danielle was able to capture these amazing images!
We were blessed to have another talented photographer onsite who captured these incredible images. Thank you Flora Janet Photography for these photos!
